Downloading PDF in Chrome without the PDF viewer

M wanted to download PDFs immediately, instead of viewing them in a browser and then saving them anyway and then viewing them - it just seems to him extremely illogical.


In any case, thought I would just pass this simple steps on to people using Chrome and who are having a similar preference.


1)      Type in chrome://plugins to access the plugins in Chrome.

Disable all PDF viewers. There should be only 2 that I know:

--> Chrome PDF Viewer (Disabled)

--> Adobe Acrobat - Version: 10.1.3.23

Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 10.1.3


2)      Disable them both. 
3)     Try downloading a PDF. It should go straight to a download instead of a viewer now.
